Universal Search has recently become one of the most widely talked about topics in Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Images should have a keyword rich file name and Alt tag, and should be submitted to some of the major image sharing sites with similarly keyword rich descriptions (and a link to the page on your site where it is featured). Video footage should also use similar optimization rules.

2 Stars Don’t bother if you know anything about SEO
I was hoping this book would provide some specifics about page coding structure or examine how types documents are examined by search engine spiders and bots, but instead it’s full of very very basic information. And some of that info is dated and un-necessary to anyone who understands their business and their competition. A lot of pages are devoted to telling what the upcoming pages are going to show you (fluff and padding). Don’t order this book if you have an understanding of WHAT SEO IS, and want specific code level and text level instructions and advice you can implement.

I did not find this book very helpful. In fact, most of what’s included is available on the Internet for free. If you want to really improve your search engine ranking, find a book that offers some basic info as well as advanced or new techniques. As more people get into SEO, some of the techniques lose their effectiveness.
