Gaining From SEO

There are many businesses that are either new, or are new to the online environment. Their thoughts do not go beyond creating a seemingly nice website and hoping that potential customers will stumble upon their website and buy their products and services. While this is not destined to happen in any case, they find the websites of their competitors showing up in search listings while their own website is nowhere to be seen. Such companies should seriously consider search engine optimization and, if they themselves don’t have the expertise, they would rather entrust this job to professional companies or individuals.

You should be careful about who you hire for this work. There are individuals or even small companies posing as professionals who merely ask you for key words that represent your company and the products and services you offer and then create something that doesn’t make sense at all. On the other hand the truly professional people almost seem to get under your skin and figure out what exactly your company stands for and all the nuances of your products and services. Having done this they set about working on your website. Quite naturally, this approach is bound to yield good results.

If you don’t yet have your own web site, even better. One of these professional guys can build your website from scratch and seamlessly integrate all the keywords at just the right places throughout the content of your website. If done in this manner the end product will look far more professional than artificially flexing the content and inserting keywords just for the sake of search engine optimization.

Ask questions to check if the person or agency you hire is aware of the rules and regulations of the popular search engines and whether they are good at implementing them and also good at staying away from malpractices. The reason why this point is critical is that if they do something that is expressly prohibited by a search engines for something that is considered inappropriate, your website could be permanently banned by the search engines.

Once your website is ready, has all the important and relevant keywords placed at just the right places and optimized for search engines, you are now ready to address another important issue called link building. There are agencies that help you place links to your website on a whole lot of other sites that relate to your business in some manner. What happens then is that whenever someone visits any of these other sites they are able to see a link to your site as well. This provides search engines one more reason to increase the ranking of your website.

Professionals who provide these services have their charges based on different parameters. It depends on whether you want your website to be built from scratch or you want your existing website to be modified for search engine optimization. These agencies have different plans for ongoing maintenance of your website wherein they keep updating your website´s content as well as aligning with the ever changing guidelines of the popular search engines.

Regardless of the size of your business and what you expect from your online presence, search engine optimization is sure to make a big impact on your fortunes

Search Engine Optimization And Display Speed

Search engine optimization also focuses on your page’s display speed as it is important in achieving success with your website. The idea is to keep your web pages more concise and streamlined so that search engine crawlers associate your content with all the objects added to your pages. If your pages are able to show a high display speed, it only means that your pages are optimized correctly.

Advantages of giving focus to this side of search engine optimization are listed below.

o It increases customer satisfaction
o It increases profits
o It minimizes cost
o It promotes accessibility
o It makes maintenance of your pages easier

Making page display speed one of your goals in search engine optimization has a lot of advantages. It would take your SEO efforts to the next level. Some strategies do not touch such measures as it takes highly technical knowledge to perform. However, once perfected, it not only gives your web pages the desired look and feel but also increases the possibilities of gaining a higher search engine ranking. The list below shows some of the procedures involved in this task.

o Reduction of initial display time
o Optimization of Java scripts to promote execution speed
o Resizing and optimization of images
o Optimization of multimedia content
o Conversion of layout and style to CSS standards

The objective of this task is to convert your HTML and multimedia elements into a more readable form. To prepare your website for this type of task, you need to consider having a review of all the materials that are present on your web pages. Numerous obstacles have been observed especially when multimedia and other elements are added to a web page. However, since these elements mainly give a more attractive look to your website, ways have been formulated to transform these elements into a more search engine friendly structure.

Consider directing your SEO efforts into accomplishing as much streamlining efforts to prepare your materials for search engine indexing. Your website may have unwanted objects or components that can be replaced by more manageable web forms. Redirecting your efforts to focus on this aspect will help your website gain a better page rank. That being said, it is wise to prompt your SEO provider to make efforts to deal with this task in SEO.

Search engine optimization is a matter of eliminating obstacles that hinder the favorable indexing of your website. Adding other “more useful” objects in this sense, would promote more satisfactory page display speed. If you cannot do away with certain objects that you show on your web pages, it is best to consult your provider and ask if they can perform enough modification to restructure the codes to a more acceptable form. This will greatly enhance your SEO protocol and will make probabilities of achieving goals a lot higher.

How To Find The Right Keywords

You can get targeted key word traffic without battling high competition. I may have mentioned this before without going into detail. The solution is to get misspelled words, connotations and derivatives of highly searched key words or phrase in your niche. less competitive keywords bring less traffic when used solo. They are searched for less. High traffic is accomplished by using “the sum of many less competitive keywords.” One keyword may bring in only 300 clicks monthly. Fifty -100 less competitive keywords in total, would bring you 15,000 to 30,000 clicks per month. That’s not a whole lot, however it can put you on the map. You’ll probably find a keyword that can easily bring you 1,000 clicks monthly and have low competition. Optimize that keyword on your site and try to promote a lot more keywords of the same caliber. You can create a tornado with a conglomerate of little breezes, so to speak..

Yes it ‘s tedious work, but it’s not like breaking stones or lifting cargo. You’ll find yourself reading and typing, for longer periods of time. How difficult can that really be?

Let’s look at the keyword selection process as an example. First we must acknowledge our chosen niche. For lack of a better name, this example will be done in the pizza niche. Of course this SEO example can be done in any niche, but for the sake of an example, imagine you’re a pizza store owner. You want people to come to your store and by your pizza. The first thing I suggest here is to think like a potential customer. What is the phrase the potential customer would put into a search engine to find pizza?

The phrase “I want pizza” may be appropriate. Go to your favorite keyword tool. (mine is Google Keyword Tools). Assuming your in Google Keyword Tools, (just for this example) put the phrase “I want pizza” into the search and see what comes up. You should see a rather large list of words relating to pizza. Listed will be the Search Volume which means the average amount of searches done on each word or phrase monthly. In this case the word “Pizza” is popular with a lot of competition, to the tune of 37,000,000 searches monthly. That may be too much competition for you right now. Put the word “Pizza” in the search engine and you can see on the upper right corner (in Google) how many listings there are pertaining to that word. At the time of this writing, there are 122,000,000 listings in Google for the word “Pizza.” That’s competition. Look at your Tools and you may find a less competitive phrase like “find pizza.” Currently, there are only 9,900 searches monthly for that phrase. It’s a lot easier to get a high rank then competing with the 37,000,00 searches that the word pizza has. Put the phrase “find pizza,” into the search engine and see how many listings there are. This time put parenthesis before and after the phrase to tell the search engine that you are looking for exactly and nothing other then “find pizza.” I found 193,000 listings for that phrase. It’s still a bit steep, but a lot easier to compete with rather then 122,000,000 listing. Do you get the general idea? Repeat the process until you find numbers you are comfortable with.

You must be able to see that keyword selection is basically a game of numbers. The idea in this article is finding a bunch of relevant keywords. Then evaluate your ability compete, by looking at how many listings and searches where done. There are fancy programs able do this with one or two clicks. If you don’t have a fancy program it can be done manually. It usually takes a lot of time to come up with hundreds of low competitive keywords, but it’s well worth the hassle.

5 Search Engine Optimization Tips

Coding websites is no longer a problem these days. So many pre-built platforms, so many blog solutions and the cheap cost of hiring someone else to do it for you no longer justify investing that much time in the coding process.

What truly matters today is connecting your pages to the world, to the network, transforming your ordinary page into a Web page. How better can you attract visitors, traffic and acknowledgment than through search engines? Search engines are the key to the progress of your website, so what you need to start doing is the search engine optimization or SEO.

Below I’ll present you 5 tips which will help you optimize in a more productive manner, more efficiently and with less time investment. So here it goes:

Tip #1
Get tons of backlinks! Link building is the heart of search engine optimization. The more links you have incoming to your site the more you will be appreciated by the search engines. One thing you might not hear that often is that the quality of the websites linking to you is 1000 times more important than the number of sites which do. So go for quality not for quantity!

Tip #2
Blogs are gold! Don’t submit to web directories, don;t spend your money on some cheap solution! Simply comment on blogs which have content related to your content. Do this and you will have invaluable backlinks and incredible results.

Tip #3
Don’t bother that much with the keywords tag. Spiders and crawlers are not stupid! They do read the content and they judge you on that, not based on some deprecated tag! Rather than spending your time improving your tags, improve your content.

Tip #4
Having a link on a page where there are 1000 more links won’t help you at all. This is why web directories aren’t that great. Yes, you get a backlink but on a website which gives backlinks to thousands of other sites. All that value is shared and split between you all, becoming insignificant. So go for the real thing! Try to get your link posted in context, in relevant places not on some cheap web directory.

Tip #5
Among all tags on your site the title tag is the most important one! I know you probably haven’t heard this before, but it’s on of the most overlooked facts of search engine optimization. If you have the right keyword in your title it will matter much much more than if you have it inside some meta tag.

These were 5 very simple tips. But don’t get fooled! Simple is best when talking about search engines. Follow these easy steps and you will see huge improvements with minimum time investment.

Why Unique Content Is Important For SEO?

Good quality online content provides many benefits, not least to your visitors. However, ensuring that your website’s copy is unique is just as beneficial, particularly when it comes to search engine optimisation.

Most websites contain thousands of words spread across dozens of pages. Within reason, the more words you have on each page, the better your chances of gaining a significantly improved ranking within the search engines. With such a demand placed on content, the temptation to cut corners can occur.

Perhaps you have a few products that are similar and so you use the same description for each. Maybe you saw some excellent copy and just helped yourself. Either way, the likelihood is that it will do very little to help your credibility with your visitors or the search engines.

Plagiarism is particularly frowned upon online. Webmasters won’t thank you for borrowing their copy and the search engines won’t look too kindly on it either. As their crawlers go out and look for new pages, they index each one individually. This then gives them a log of every single page that they have ever been through, therefore allowing them to pinpoint any portions of content they have come across previously.

Algorithms are programmed to sift out the best quality and most relevant content to rank on the search engine result pages. When they find duplicated content, they are more inclined to punish it or at least not give the page the same amount of attention as those with a high standard of original, optimised copy.

For this reason, it is imperative that you ensure that nobody else is borrowing your copy, or that you yourself aren’t plagiarising your own pages. The whole reason of doing SEO is to get your pages indexed regularly and to achieve better rankings as a result. If all you are doing is highlighting your own duplicate content, you will probably end up doing more harm than good.

Leaving the SEO aspect to one side for a moment, you have to also consider the needs of the visitor. If they have been to another site or a page within your website, and have read what has been written, they aren’t likely to be too impressed. Content is your option to communicate with the visitor, sell your business and everything else within it. To cut corners is to lose a big opportunity to add your personality to on page copy and tell your visitors exactly what they need to be hearing.

Duplicate content provides a lose-lose situation for any website. It will undermine your SEO efforts and gives the visitor another reason not to trust what you have to say. Marketing yourself online is all about building trust and confidence in a limited amount of time; to ruin that with what is essentially the simplest of tasks, writing some copy, you will have lost a massive opportunity and will do little to convince your visitors that they are on a site to be trusted.

If you are concentrating on SEO, then content is one of the strongest weapons in your armoury. Good quality, optimised copy will help to back up your link building and other activities. Don’t succumb to the temptation of shoehorning previously used text; start with a blank page, fresh ideas and watch as your website enjoys the benefits.
